The Hotel’s Window
From the rooftop, guests are amused by 270° views over Vienna; from the elegant, chic rooms with french balconies, mornings begin with a coffee in hand while contemplating the gentle awakening of Mariahilf’s busiest street.

Insider’s Knowledge
Under the vision of its creator, the Austrian Bernd Schlacher, Hotel MOTTO, housed in Vienna’s low-rise version of the iconic NYC’s Flatiron Building, invites guests to experience cultural interexchange with sprinkles of Paris’s 1920s charm, Scandinavian comfort, and genuinely Viennese hospitality. To learn more about this handsome boutique hotel, we chatted with Roland Eggenhofer, MOTTO’s Director of Sales and Marketing.

The crown jewel in what views is concerned sits at our rooftop summer terrace, boasting a 270° vista over Vienna that extends across the city to the nearby vineyards in the outskirts. The atmosphere and ambiance are stunning, like a rooftop in NYC or Paris with cozy seats and chic umbrellas for dinner or an afternoon after-work drink.

The views in our CHIC rooms are served in a small french balcony. It usually goes like this: guests open the window door with an awning/sunblinds (pretty much like it happens in Paris), stand on their french balcony holding a freshly brewed coffee, and watch by-passers going about their lives; it is a glimpse of Vienna’s charming urban lifestyle.
Some DELUXE and SUITE Junior rooms have gorgeous balconies with renaissance and baroque architecture details and are adorned with flowers and plants. From these, the sight of the ever-busy Mariahilfer Street is guaranteed.

It is undeniable that whenever the subject of view comes up, guests and locals alike are quick to elect the hotel’s rooftop bar as home to one of Vienna’s most impressive panoramic views, hands down.
When our seasonal rooftop isn’t operating, I’d say the best view indoors would be from our Chez Bernard restaurant, where flavors from France and North Africa come together and meet Austrian creativity. The natural light-filled restaurant is contained under a gigantic modern dome of glass, which unveils views of the famous shopping street below.

“Urban.”

Summing up MOTTO’s formula for luxury is challenging. To us, luxury is about personal service; outstanding high-quality interiors; artsy, modern vibes; over-the-top people; exceptional food and drinks. All the previously accompanied by a perfect soundtrack.
