The Hotel’s Window
As if safely resting under the protection of the magical Tepozteco Mountain, those who stay at Amomoxtli, a distinguished boutique hotel in Tepoztlán, marvel at the sights of the majestic rainforest mountain, which locals swear on their knees is full of legends and mysteries.
A Visual Tour of Amomoxtli
Insider’s Knowledge
Intrigued by the tales associated with the Tepozteco and under the spell of its eye-popping sights, we sat down with Ms. Maritere Zavala, the boutique hotel’s general manager, who shared her insights on this singular hotel planted on the lush Antongo River Valley.

From the moment guests enter our property, a sense of arriving at a remarkable place inevitably kicks in. If the lush gardens spread across the hotel are already quite a sight, I’d say the prize goes to the unobstructed, maybe even humbling, pool views of the spectacular Tepozteco mountain.
-
For the most inspiring views, we always suggest to guests our premium rooms; rooms 320 (Turquesa) and 318 (Onix) are the best options among these. Our most special, Tepozteca-inspired accommodations offer a private garden and mountain views, even if only partial.
-
Usually, by laying in one of our pool’s overwater sunbeds, which are nothing less than front-row seats to one of Mexico’s most beautiful mountains. We notice how guests enter into a full-relaxation mode while nibbling typical Morelos’ snacks and listening to a soundtrack provided by the best maestro of all: nature.
-
“Unique.”
-
In essence, I’d say enabling guests to admire such a magical and unique mountain surrounded by nature while enjoying the comfort of the hotel. Conquering guests’ approval through their taste buds is also one of our goals, which is why we are invested in delivering a memorable culinary experience at our Mesa de Origen restaurant. Our mission has been accomplished if we can make them feel at home while visiting Tepoztlán.
Amomoxtli’s Location
For those coming from overseas, the easiest way is to fly to Mexico City and then travel south to Tepoztlán, one of Mexico’s magic towns for its beauty, charm, and esoteric persona. The journey from Mexico City International Airport to Amomoxtli takes approximately one and a half hours, and the hotel’s concierge team can help by providing private transportation.
