Hilton Osaka Hotel's restaurant Windows on the World, on the 35th floor, might just well be our favorite viewing point (one of Osaka's most distinctive landmarks, Umeda Sky Building, can be admired from here). Contemporary design is also next door. The Hilton Osaka Hotel lies at Umeda, the newest area in town. Grand Front Umeda is around the corner and the Umeda Sky Building is so close you will not spend more than 2 minutes to get there (and we mean walking distance). But if you wish to go a little further and discover the tallest building in Japan (Abeno Harukas) it is extremely easy: Osaka Station is at your feet.

If it’s possible, plan your stay on early April: all trees will be in bloom, filling the air with a lovely perfume, tiny light-pink petals allover the place. Absolutely perfect.

You couldn’t have a better atmosphere for a drink or for dinner. But do not let this enchant you, Osaka has much more to offer: jump on the next train and head to Namba or Umeda for shopping. On your way you’ll probably stumble upon Umeda Sky Building. Save a bit of amazement for that, it’s worthwhile.

Well it is not, for the bullet train will ride 35 miles in 15 minutes. Pure blast.

The hotel lies directly above JR Osaka Train Station. From there the Shinkansen (the Japanese word for bullet trains) will propel you in 15 minutes to Kyoto or in 3h 45 minutes to Tokyo. On your way back the splendid vistas from the windows at the top floors will welcome you - specially the ones from La Fleuve Restaurant and Sandbank Bar. This will surely be needed after all that speed.

In addition, the hotel has direct access to Shinsaibashi subway station. This is a true blessing for in less than 15 minutes you can be at one of the oldest monuments in town - Osaka Castle - or facing the tallest building in Japan - Abeno Harukas.

This is not a place just to spend the night. This is not a loud place but a little heaven, a ryokan called Nanten-En.
